Frequently asked questions
General
In traditional surrogacy, the surrogate’s own egg is used — meaning she is biologically related to the baby. In gestational surrogacy, which is the only type we work with, the surrogate carries an embryo created through IVF using the intended parents’ or donors’ egg and sperm. This means the surrogate has no genetic connection to the baby she carries.
To qualify, you’ll need to meet certain medical and lifestyle guidelines that help ensure a safe and healthy journey for you and the baby. Typically, surrogates are between the ages of 21–40, have had at least one full-term pregnancy and are raising their own child, live a stable lifestyle, and have no major medical or mental health concerns. These requirements are in place to protect everyone involved and create the best experience possible.
Yes — having had a healthy, full-term pregnancy and currently parenting your own child is an important part of qualifying. This helps ensure that you fully understand the physical and emotional aspects of pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
Our surrogates receive a minimum base compensation of $65,000, with additional allowances and bonuses throughout the journey. You’ll also receive a full benefits package covering maternity clothing, travel, medical expenses, and more. We believe your time, commitment, and care deserve to be valued — both emotionally and financially.
Every journey is unique, but most surrogates can expect the process to take 12–18 months from application to delivery. This includes the screening process, matching with intended parents, medical clearance, the embryo transfer, pregnancy, and delivery. Our team will guide you step by step, so you always know what’s ahead.
Absolutely. We believe that a strong, respectful connection between surrogate and intended parents is the foundation of a successful journey. You’ll have the opportunity to review profiles, share your preferences, and meet potential matches before making a decision that feels right for you.
No — you will never be responsible for any out-of-pocket costs related to your surrogacy journey. All medical, legal, and travel expenses are fully covered by the intended parents.
You’ll typically travel for your initial medical screening and embryo transfer, which are done at the intended parents’ fertility clinic. After that, most appointments take place with your local OB provider. All travel expenses — including flights, hotels, meals, and mileage — are covered for you.
The embryo transfer is a simple, non-surgical procedure performed by a fertility specialist. It’s usually painless and feels similar to a pap smear. You’ll be awake the entire time and can go home shortly afterward. Most surrogates describe it as quick and comfortable, with just a short period of rest afterward.
After delivery, the baby goes directly to their parents, and you’ll have time to rest and recover. Many surrogates stay in touch with the families they’ve helped, while others prefer a quiet transition back to normal life — both choices are respected. We’ll also provide postpartum care and emotional support to help you process the experience and celebrate the incredible gift you’ve given.
